This week, the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development organized a workshop in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria, to discuss how youths could be strategically mobilized in the campaign against open defecation in Nigeria.
It will be recalled that the Federal Ministry of Water Resources leading the campaign had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Youth Ministry on implementing a strategic framework on YOUTHWASH.
The Ado Ekiti meeting, attended by Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) stakeholders from Southwest Nigeria, brainstormed practicable ways to implement the strategic framework, with youths taking active and leading roles in the campaign.
