41% of public water supply is contaminated

41% of all taps fed by urban water utilities’ supply is contaminated with thermotolerant coliform with an average coliform forming units per 100ml at 234 CFU/100ml, according to 2021 Water Sanitation and Hygiene National Outcome Routine Mapping (WASHNORM) survey

The survey is a collaboration between the Federal Ministry of Water Resource and the National Bureau of Statistics with support from UNICEF, the World Bank, WHO and other development partners.
