Global Water Partnership and the Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) Action Hub are scouring for success stories on gender equality improvement and the inclusion of more women in water in the Pan African Region.
Although gender biases continue to rear up in deeply ingrained cultural norms and power dynamics, more women are being encouraged to share initiatives and positive stories that can impact transformation, change, and encourage gender equality further in water, climate, and other sectors in the Pan African Region.
The call is open for submissions from 12 June 2023 until 15 July 2023
Submissions are to be focused on the topics within the water and climate-related sector:
Gender Equality in climate resilient water Investment
Stakeholder engagement in water-related climate adaptation and mitigation measures
Gender-specific and inclusive monitoring and evaluation in water and climate
Development and use of gender analytical tools in water and climate programs
The winner will be invited to present at the African Climate Week in September 2023 in Nairobi, all expenses paid by the GWP, while selected case study winners will be invited to participate in the Gender Community Of Practice and be featured on the IWRM Action Hub.
Selected case studies will be featured on the IWRM Action Hub. All case study authors will be invited to participate in the Gender Community of Practice and will benefit from networking events and workshops organized and announced on the platform.
Any initiative aimed at gender equality and inclusion, NGOs, private or government sectors, faith or community-based organizations, local and international organizations, or individuals across the African Continent are eligible to submit their entries.
Strongly encouraged to participate are case studies with strong social inclusion dimensions led by youth and women.
