The 5th Lagos State International Water Conference (LIWAC) kicked off today in Lagos, under the theme: Innovative Financing: Bridging the Sector Financing Gap”. The conference brings together experts, policymakers, and stakeholders to discuss innovative ways to enhance water and sanitation systems in Lagos through effective financing mechanisms.
It is organized by the Lagos State Water Regulatory Commission (LASWARCO), in partnership with WaterAid, UNICEF, Lagos State Water Corporation, USAID, The World Bank, Coca-Cola, CWAY, KIFFWA, OPEN-CAPITAL, Resilient Water Accelerator EKO Hotel & Suite, ESAWAS, and Stanbic IBTC
The two-day meeting will feature panel discussions on the following topics:
- Community-Led Total Sanitation
- Unlocking effective resources planning and management in WASH: The vital regulatory role in establishing financing frameworks
- Sustainable Initiatives Supporting SDGs
- Utilities and Regulators Dialogues
- Innovative financing models for Water and Sanitation

- Successful innovative financing model in the Kenyan context
- Innovative financing: Bridging the sector financing gap.
