The Managing Director of Taraba Water Agency and Sewerage Corporation (TAWASCO), Mr Buba Musa, has released a report on the performance of 10 no-water meters installed in the corporate network this year.
The report posted by Elijah Mbachian Kungwa, a General Manager, at TAWASCO, on his LinkedIn page is summarised below:
- A Zoom training on the water meter installation was held on the 1st of February, 2023.
- The meters were then calibrated and installed in different locations around the city.
- Supervision and monitoring have since begun to observe the performance
- Tawascoehave performed some vending on the meters, and the performance is satisfactory. Worthy of note is the non-closure of the solenoid valve when it is dry compared to other brands of prepaid meters.
Taraba state prepaid water meters - The meters have shown resilience in the face of low pressure and intermittent supply. We are impressed.
- Only ten (10) LAISON Prepaid meters were used.
The Meters did not change the revenue flow because we had five hundred Prepaid meters installed two years ago, and vending has been ongoing before the advent of LAISON Pilot Projects. But they added to the reduction in debts for the Corporation.
