An Abuja-based private company has introduced mobile toilets into the Nigerian market. Tagged ‘GreenToilets’, the sanitation facilities can be positioned at bus stops, motor parks, public places, schools, worship centres, and military outpost stations.
Mr Mekwunye Kidochukwu Prince, the Managing Director of the private firm- Just Fix It Synergy Nigeria Limited, told eWASH that the GreenToilet comes in five different categories: Green Toilet Dry, Green Toilet Basic, Green Toilet Premium, Green Toilet Executive, and Green Toilet Maxi.

GreenToilet Dry
It is designed for use in rural communities where pit toilets or latrine is the sustainable model or areas with limited access to water. The model includes a cabin with floor tiles and an open squat system.
A pit is dug, and a 3 – 5m concrete ring is installed in the pit hole. When the pit is full, the GreenToilet cabin is removed and installed on a new pit while the full pit is disinfected and backfilled with topsoil, and a commercial tree is planted on it.
This idea encourages waste management and tree planting, thus ideal for recycling and environmental management.
- Green Toilet Basic
This model is designed for places with little access to water. The GreenToilet has a Squat Potty, tap and shower installed. It can either be connected to a soakaway or a central sewage pipeline. It is built for high-density locations
- Green Toilet Premium
The model is designed for places with proper access to water. The GreenToilet has a Water Closet (WC), tap, and shower installed that can be connected to a soakaway or a central sewage pipeline. It is built for medium-density usage.
- Green Toilet Executive
This model is designed for corporate locations with good access to water, assigned cleaners and low-density usage. The GreenToilet Executive has a concealed Tank Water Closet (WC) installed and can be connected to a soakaway or a central sewage pipeline.
- Green Toilet Maxi
This model is designed for use in very high-density areas. It has 5 toiles built in a 20ft cabin. A 1kva solar system for night use lightens the cabin, and waste can be channeled to a central sewage pipeline or a soakaway. It is ideal for schools, worship centers, motor parks, recreational parks, and gardens.
