The European Commission and the Federal Government of Nigeria agreed in December 2004 to support the implementation of the Water Supply and Sanitation Sector Reform Programme (WSSSRP) in Nigeria.
The specific objective of the WSSSRP is to increase access to safe, adequate and sustainable Water and Sanitation Services in six focal States amongst which is Anambra, Cross River, Jigawa, Kano, Osun and Yobe.
One of the results to be achieved under the WSSSRP is improved water governance at State, Local Governments and Community levels.
In order to achieve the above, consultancy services were contracted to assess the institutional framework for water supply and sanitation (WSS) delivery in Cross River State.
